1949 ~ 2018
Carey Brent Hurst passed away peacefully July 27, 2018 at the Intermountain Healthcare in St. George, Utah.
Brent was born March 24, 1949 in Burley, Idaho to Lloyd Wendell Hurst and Arlene Parker Hurst. His mother preceded him in death.
Brent has two sisters and three brothers; Dianne (Dale) Huber, Vicki (Bob) Liljenquist, Mark (Jill) Hurst, Reed (Jolene) Hurst, and Lynn (Jerrie) Hurst.
In 1967, Brent graduated from Olympus High School in Salt Lake City and served a 2-year mission in England in 1968.
In 1971, Brent married Sue Ann Roberts and they have two sons, Ryan and Joel Hurst. His three granddaughters are Brea, Berkley, and Hadley Hurst.
Brent was hired by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1971 and worked in the Salt Lake yards. In 1973 he was promoted to fireman and then engineer in 1974 in Marysville, Kansas. He retired in 2009 and moved to St. George, Utah.
Brent was loving and devoted to his family. His great wit, humor and kind-hearted spirit will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2nd promptly at 5:30 PM located at the Thanksgiving Point Golf Club 3900 N. Garden Drive, Lehi UT 84043
