Obituary for Paul M. Clark
Paul M. Clark died Thursday, June 29, 2017 due to cancer. He was born in Holladay, Utah on October 12, 1948 to Frank M. and Thelma Hoggan Clark.
Paul spent his youth working on the family farm where he learned: You have responsibilities; you get the job done no matter what; and you don't complain.
He loved hunting ducks and bucks with his family and friends. He was highly respected as a pitcher or catcher in Little League, American Legion, High School (Olympus High) and college baseball (Weber State Univ). In 1968, he joined and served six years in the US Navy. After crossing the equator aboard the USS Long Beach, he was initiated and honored into King Neptune's worthy order of trusty Shellbacks. His longest assignment was aboard the USS Providence where he received commendations for his bravery and leadership in combat conditions. In 1974 he resumed his career with Utah Power & Light, retiring with 40 years.
He is survived by his children, Monica Clark (Shawn) and Alex Clark (Tara); grandsons Tate and Thomas Clark; brother, Richard J. (Karren) Clark and sister, Sue Marie (Tony) Scallion; former wife and mother of their children, Shauna Alcorn; former wife, Pat Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved brother, Jeffery Clark and nephew Christopher Clark.
A gathering and visitation to celebrate Paul's life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park Chapel with military honors being presented at 3:30 PM.
