Murray, Utah-David Robert (Bob) Davis passed away on March 8, 2017. Until six months ago, Bob had never been sick when he was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. He diligently fought his cancer but in the end was called to his eternal home.
Bob was born on February 2, 1949 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia, the oldest of three children. He was the first person in his family to graduate from college, with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah in 1975. He worked for Salt Lake City International Airport, the Cities of West Jordan and Midvale, and several consulting firms. He was president of several public works and civil engineering associations. Bob loved family history and spent countless hours researching his ancestors and he loved to teach. Bob diligently and selflessly served those around him and led by example with integrity, hard work, sacrifice and love.
Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patty, and their four sons, Dan (Liz), Andy, Rick, and Scott (Carly) as well as six grandchildren, Paisley, Katie, Abigail, Spencer, Amelia, and Anistyn. He is also survived by his mother Carol and his sister Lynnae. He was preceded in death by his father David Barton and his brother Darol.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 2:00 pm with viewings on Friday, March 10, from 6-8 pm and Saturday at 1:00 pm at the LDS Chapel at 4220 S. Jeannine Dr. (400 East), Murray, Utah.
