Ann Marie Ferre Johnston
1948-2015
Ann Marie Johnston, 66, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on the morning of July 4, 2015. Preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Johnston and her father Loren W. Ferre. She is survived by her brother L. Mark Ferre (Connie), sister Patrice Brown (John), brother-in-law Mike Johnston (Doris),many cousins and much loved nieces and nephews.
Ann was born Sept. 28, 1948 and raised in Salt Lake graduating from Olympus High School in 1967. She then attended SLCC with her best friend, Kathy Cooper. Several years later she and the love of her life, Roy, headed to California for an adventure settling in Marina Del Rey for over forty years. For thirty years she worked for Jerry Epstein, one the original developers of Marina Del Rey. Jerry and his wife Pat considered her a daughter and she in return reciprocated their love. Ann's kind and generous nature made it easy for her to form enduring and meaningful friendships. Among those friends were her co-workers, long-time friend Gladis and "The Taste Buds" who together enjoyed shopping, dining out and traveling.
It was Ann's desire after retirement to return to Salt Lake and be close to her family. Although her time here was short, she was able to help care for her mother, spend time with and make long lasting memories with her family, and indulge in her lifelong passion for reading. Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.
Services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, at 11am with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral service.
