 Olympus High School Class of 1967 - Latest News 08-04-2011 - Classmate Steve Hansen died in 2005 Steven Matthew Hansen passed away July 5, 2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City from cancer. Born December 7, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was a graduate of Olympus High School and Salt Lake Community College. He was a member of the LDS Church, Canyon Creek Ward in Tooele. Steven was currently on active duty as a Sergeant with the 3/360 Training Support Battalion of the Army. He was a combat veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm and was recently engaged in helping prepare our troops for deployment to the Middle East. Steven was a Journeyman Electrician in private life having worked on many commercial buildings we see around SLC. Surviving Steven are his parents, Willard L. Hansen and Eileen M. Campos Hansen, both of SLC; brother, Kent Hansen (DeeAnn) of CA; and sister, Melanie Schneider (Tony) of Australia.A viewing will be held Friday, July 8th at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, from 6-8 pm. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society  Return to Latest News |
